Developing vertical integration - Crop business

This year 2017 CPF Agro started to run crop production by it’s own. For this reason, we purchased one of the most efficient and productive machinery and equipment by John Deere, Claas, CNH, Amazone.

We are putting into production permanent restlands – the lands that were not cultivated for more than 5 years using traditional technology. But in our plans to try and run minimum till and no-till technologies.

Generally, technological process include soil preparation and levelling with disk harrows and cultivators, fertilization, sowing, chemical spraying to combat weeds, harmful insects and diseases and eventually harvesting.

This spring we started with plantation around 1500 ha of spring barley and there are 500 ha of winter wheat from the last year. However, the spring was extremely cold and humid, everything is under control and the crops are doing all right. And if we don’t meet any serious problems with the weather conditions in nearest future, we will have good yield of grain. Next year 2018 we are increasing our production with total land area more than 20 000 ha of arable crops, including not only grains but rape seeds, peas, soya beans, corn and sunflower.

One of the ways to increase our capacity and reduce the cost is to utilize organic fertilizers (solid and liquid manure from our pig farms). We are also trying to do our best to save the environment and meet all the ecological requirements and norms of Russian Federation.

The main target of CPF Agro Cropping Dept is to reduce the cost of feeds by full feed mill supply with grain of high quality.  As for the other crops the goal is to get the final products with low cost, good margin and to increase the capacity of lands at the same time.
